Leave It All On the Court
Volleyball is a blood-thirsty sport. Dive. Jump. Slam. Sweat. Set. Spike. Crush. Slaughter. Dominate. Victory. Defeat. Over 200 students at Champion Forest Baptist Church are participating in an intense 4-day volleyball tournament. Teenagers of all ages, shapes, sizes, colors, and personalities pour their souls into conquering the competition.
Watching students play is fascinating. Some students are determined to win. They leave every ounce of energy, skill, and effort on the court. Other students are competing for fun. Each match is entertaining and full of laughter as they attempt to volley back and forth. They enjoy participating, but aren’t serious. While yet another group is baffled by the goal of the game. They stand in one place watching and recoil when a serve is hit their way. They want to engage but don’t know how.
These students represent us. If you took a look at your relationship with Christ, which would you be?
Do you want to engage but don’t know how?
Do you enjoy participating but don’t take it seriously?
Do you give every ounce of energy, skill, and talent for the sake of Christ?
Everyday we step on the court of life. God hands us the ball of time and says, “Play.” If someone were standing on the sidelines watching today, which player would you be?
Today, expend every ounce of energy, skill, and talent you have for the sake of Christ. Intentionally read God’s word until it radically transforms your thoughts. Pray like you have never prayed before. Love unconditionally. Smile. Show appreciation. Listen. Share Christ. Give attention. Let every person know, especially those closest to you, how much you love them.
It’s your serve. What will you do? Just for today, leave it all on the court!
